Danz Dish 6: "YOUR CONCERT"

This year, Danz Dish 6 proved to be surprising, enriching, and tiring altogether. If I thought that last year's Danz Dish 5 production was overwhelming and so much fun, then I cannot even begin to describe how fulfilling this year's production has been.

With less than two months to scout for sponsors, hire a hologram machine and technical directors, choreograph six brand new acts and re-block six old competitions, search here and there for cheap but chic costumes, and prepare ourselves spiritually and mentally for what we prayed would be a grand endeavor, it was definitely proven that under Him, anything is possible.

I am on a Danz Dish high. With a number of overwhelming feedback from both friends and strangers alike, what the entire La Salle Dance Company-Street had been preparing for and taking in sleepless nights for deemed to be truly worth it.

I am eternally grateful for so many things and to so many people. I am grateful that after a number of acts and competitions and day-to-day training sessions that lasted just a bit after eleven o'clock in the evening, my knees are still in check (of course, with the occasional snap here and there). I am grateful for the supportive friends and relatives who came to watch the show despite their busy schedules, as well as a long-lost acquaintance who made my day when, as the theater lights came on, appeared in the audience before me (hi Elise). I am grateful for the stress that proved worthy after scouting for sponsors via email alone and having to constantly provide the company with a wardrobe checklist. I am grateful to Him, to the three wonderful people who headed the production, to my beloved coach and, of course, the entire team of LSDC-Street.

What a blessing this has all been! I will definitely miss the late-night training sessions, random tambayan moments at the booth and in-between rehearsals, food trips, random kwento and funny moments with the alumni and other street members, and the concert hype, in itself.

I've learned so much from this year's Danz Dish, and I know that the path to happiness is not yet over.

The rest is still unwritten.

Makes me miss it even more!

  1. I'm so kilig namannn hihi :) You were all so awesome (cannot say this enough!) I think one of the reasons why I cried was coz I felt so bad that I missed so many of your previous performances. Meh!

It was so cute that you and AC were sort of "partnered up" in the first dance you two appeared in :) As the preppy sosyal girls haha! Dancing universal constants much :)

P.S. That was AC and Jero in the couple-full set right? I wasn't sure hahaha :P

  2. Thank you so so much, Elise! It was so awesome having you there, seriously <3

Hahaha yes she's my dance buddy for life! We've been in the same team since 1st year high school and we're usually "complements" of each other in dances!

Yes that was them! Wasn't their chemistry believable? :>
