DLSU Campaign Week 2012

I have never been very active in the student government at my own university (although I did attempt to contribute something to the community when I was in my freshman year), but I have always admired the people who put all their hard work and effort into creating programs for the students, by the students.

This recent campaign week has been nothing but competitive--but then again, what kind of election isn't? I have never been loyal to just one political party in the university, because I truly believe that two sides equals just one amazingly united idea.

This year, I am extremely proud to call myself a good friend to three of the candidates running for University Student Government for the coming school year. This may be a "friendship bias" (a term I am coining, with great pride and silliness, at this moment), but I sincerely believe that these people are worth your time. They may all come from opposing political parties and have different stands on issues and very different platforms--but platforms aside, I take into consideration a candidate's personality. One may have a great platform, but no way am I voting for that person if he/she is completely fake.

And as the proud friend that I am, I would like to present my very REAL friends, running for their respective positions in the University Student Government Elections in DLSU :)

SASA HERMOSO
running for Executive Secretary of the USG

--

INA ONGSIAKO,
running for Vice President for Internal Affairs for USG

--

DINNIE MIJARES,
running for BLAZE 2012 Batch President

--

RIA ATAYDE,
running for FAST09 Batch President

and

NIKKO TANCHANCO,
running for FAST09 Batch Vice President

--

Take the time to talk to not just them, but also everyone running for a position in this coming election. It helps to know the kind of people behind the platforms they are trying to actualize.

Vote wisely! :)
