I am so amused by the fact that "nom" (pertaining to Cookie Monster's, "nom nom nom nom...", which signifies something tasty, or else hunger for something) was the runner-up to this year's Word of the Year. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "Word of the Year" until I read the newspaper this morning.
And, being the aspiring literary person (or linguist) that I am, that headline instantly caught my eye.
Unfortunately, it was "app" that won Word of the Year. Boo.
i didn't know that!!! nom would've been so much more awesome, hahaha!
