BBTF on a BBTF

Forgive me for the lack of blog updates, but my academic + dance training schedule has been majorly hectic lately. I have so much to blog about -- Cirque du Soleil's Varekai, the recent World Hip Hop spectacle, and nights out with friends I haven't seen in ages -- but let me just dedicate this entry to two of my long-lost best friends.

Madge, McCoy and I were inseparable when we were all still ballet scholars at Steps Dance Studio. We were in all of the advanced classes together, took all of the same workshops under guest artists, and frequented each others' houses (well, save for Madge's) during the weekends. Madge and I even planned one of McCoy's birthday parties, which ended up being an extremely tacky event that served as a bad excuse for us to mingle with certain people. McCoy went on to become a company member at Hamburg Ballet (in Germany), Madge is currently a company member at Ballet Philippines while I, meanwhile, had a change of heart and proceeded on to being a member of the La Salle Dance Company-Street.

Despite the mountain of work piling up on my end and Madge's endless rehearsals for BP's upcoming Encantada production, we managed to squeeze in one night of inexhaustible conversation with our wonderful friend, McCoy, who is back from Germany for a visit for just a month.

We screamed and hugged (in public, mind you) when we met up with each other at Greenbelt 3 last night. We talked for hours on end over amazing dinner at K(itchen) and dessert at Cafe Breton. We updated each other about our love lives, dance careers, and future plans. We planned for a birthday visit to McCoy in Hamburg after Madge and I turn 21, in 2012! And I've got the paper placemat with the "pact" written on it.

Despite the fact that we all come from different worlds now, I'm happy to know that we are still the same starry-eyed, motormouth dancers we once were, who craved nothing but chocolate and were passionate about anything in dance.
